Welcome to Worcestershire Wing Chun Kuen
If you want to learn a martial art, have been looking for a martial arts school or self defence class, or
were wondering where to learn Wing Chun, then you've come to the right place. We teach Wing Chun kung fu
across Worcestershire, with our main kung fu school in Redditch. If you want to learn Wing Chun but aren't based
near Redditch then we can still help. As part of the Midlands Wing Chun kuen association our resources page has
links to other Ip Chun Wing Chun schools up and down the country.

Looking for self defence classes or a martial arts school can be tough and it's difficult to know
which school or style is best for you. The aim of this site is to give you a feel for the martial
art of Wing Chun kung fu, an idea of what our kung fu school is like and what you can expect from
one of our Wing Chun classes.
If you're looking for martial arts classes in Redditch or the surrounding area come along and
try a class. We aren't the only kung fu school or self defence class in Redditch but we are the
only Wing Chun school teaching authentic Ip Chun Wing Chun in the area.

If you've never attended a kung fu class or martial arts class before it can feel a bit intimidating but at
Worcestershire Wing Chun kuen we do our best to maintain a friendly and welcoming training atmosphere, where
everyone can learn this fascinating martial art.
Wondering what to expect from a Wing Chun lesson?
All martial arts schools are different and there is no such thing as a standard martial arts class so we've put
together a training page where you can find a description of what you can expect in one of our kung fu
lessons. Some of the terms might seem a bit strange and its impossible to explain everything on a website like this
but the information along with the articles, photos, and videos on our resources page should give you a feel for
what a Wing Chun lesson is like.
If you're interested in starting Wing Chun lessons then you probably want to know who you'll be learning from.
The our people page has a brief profile of our instructor or sifu so that you know who to look for on your
first day and profiles of his Wing Chun sifu and si gung (teacher's teacher) so that you can see where the
knowledge comes from.
Self defence classes
We often get asked about self defence classes and especially women's self defence. The Wing Chun system is
designed to be an effective form of self defence. In many martial arts schools self defence is taught as a separate
subject or as add on self defence classes but we don't believe in teaching that way and instead it is an
integral part of our Wing Chun lessons. The Wing Chun page and the Wing chun for Women pages outline how Wing Chun
is applied in self defence or you can check out the article on effective self defence on our resources page.
